Panorama - The Truth Exposed

As many of you may have seen on Tuesday (31st of May) Panorama has once again provided a shocking insight into another issue that is affecting our country, The Care System. But has it not made you think, if a care home is charging £3000 a week and providing such appalling care to there service users, what is happening in other care homes?
After the incidents being reported to managers at Winterbourne View care home in Bristol, nothing was done. Then the incidents reported to the healthcare watchdog, still nothing done. It took a BBC television program to finally look into the incident and uncover what was happening.
The abuse witnessed in this hour of television was terrible; in most places I would have classed it as assault.
This particular episode of Panorama couldn’t have been an easy one to film, especially as an undercover reporter. There have been many people saying ‘why didn’t you stop the abuse?’ and asking ‘why didn’t you intervene?’, the simple answer to that question is if the reporter had made the people stop then this probably wouldn’t have come to light and the abuse and the suffering of the service users would still be continuing today.
At Tender Loving Carers we have a comprehensive complaints procedure, and even the smallest of issue will not be ignored. We deal with any complaint in the same way and will not stop until it has been resolved. All complaints are used as a self auditing tool and help to create better working practise.
